During the show's virtual JordanCon panel, the yearly celebration of Jordan's many books, the show's showrunner announced that Ayoola Smart would be joining the cast in a recurring role. She will be playing a character from Jordan's novels that is her personal favorite. One of the three matriarchal leaders of the Aiel,Aviendha is one of the Wise Ones. She eventually becomes a main love interest of the main character in the show. He had nothing but praise for her portrayal of the character in the video he made near where the fight scene was being filmed.
Ceara Coveney will be playingayne trakand in Wheel's sophomore season, one of the many romances in the books. Min Fashaw is the current outlier. The show has taken creative liberties with its source material, so there will be some surprises in how it handles Elayne and Aviendha.
