The Point God was at it again.

Chris Paul scored 19 fourth-quarter points to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 114-111 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night, five days after he scored 19 fourth-quarter points to lead the Suns to a Game 1 victory.

The victory gave the Suns a 2-1 lead in the series.

Paul has scored 19 points or more in the fourth quarter four times in his career.

Picking my spots is all it is. Paul said that he finally had a couple shots go down, just trying to be aggressive and listen to Deandre Ayton.

Ayton told Paul to stop passing the ball in the fourth quarter and to shoot more. Paul went 7-of-10 in the final frame, including 5-of-5 on his mid-range shots.

Ayton said he knew that Paul was dishing it out the way he was supposed to in the first three quarters, but he also knew that the Pelicans were changing their defensive coverages in the fourth. He talked to Paul about it.

Ayton said that he started hearing different terminology on the floor and that he was telling C to shoot the ball. I need you to come off and shoot the ball, and he did it. He was in charge of the fourth quarter last year.

Paul had 28 points and 14 assists after entering the fourth quarter with nine points and 12 assists.

Paul had 14 assists and zero turnovers in his second game. His 28 assists are the most in any two-game span without a turnover in the playoffs since it became an official stat in 1978. The previous high for John was 20.

JaVale watched as Paul performed magic against his teams. He has had a first-hand look this year.

He does the same thing as Paul. If we need him in the fourth quarter he will hit those middies and take over. It is amazing how he does it.

All of Paul's big shots were needed in the fourth quarter as the Pelicans made a run. The final quarter featured four lead changes and five ties, but it was Paul who gave Phoenix the lead for good with a pull-up jumper.

Suns coach Monty Williams said that he is one of those players that plays the right way. The leadership qualities that you guys don't see in timeouts is just as impressive as what he does on the floor.

The Suns started a new guard in Booker's place. Williams went with Shamet to start the second half because Johnson was in foul trouble.

The teams will be at the Smoothie King Center on Sunday.

Williams told his players that they can't get happy on the farm.
