  • There are photos of a conservative lawmaker wearing lingerie.

  • The politician from North Carolina responded about an hour later.

  • During a game on a cruise, he called the pictures goofy vacation photos.

The pictures of Madison Cawthorn in lingerie were published by a website before he became a congressman.

I guess the left thinks goofy vacation photos during a game on a cruise (taken waaay before I ran for Congress) is going to somehow hurt me?

They are running out of things to throw at me, so he encouraged users to post their embarrassing vacation photos under his message.

The 26 year old Republican linked a Cruise Critic article that shows the same logo in the background and describes an adult scavenger-hunt game played on Royal Caribbean cruises that often led to chaos.

A man wearing a bra during a game was detailed in an article.

Insider couldn't confirm the circumstances of the photo.

The office of Cawthorn did not respond to the request for comment.

Two people who were formerly close to Cawthorn's campaign shared and confirmed the images. The report said that Cawthorn is in the midst of several other scandals, including calling Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy a "thug" and facing several driving tickets.

CNN reported in March that Cawthorn claimed that he was invited to an orgy in DC and commented on the sexual perversion that goes on in Washington.

Cawthorn, 26, was raised in a conservative Baptist community in Henderson County, North Carolina, and has staked his political persona on arch-traditional Christian principles and the insistence of a kind of hypermasculinity.

In early April, a conservative politician claimed that Democrats were fighting a war on biology by supporting the rights of the trans community.

When asked by a reporter in 2020 about where his politics stand in relation to the LGBTQ community, Cawthorn described himself as "traditional" but didn't believe the government should be able to dictate who marriages who.

He does not believe that trans youth should be allowed to have gender-affirming surgery.
