Sources told Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski that the Philadelphia 76ers star is experiencing pain in his thumb and could have an exam to determine if there is damage.
The 76ers center expects to play in Game 4 of the first-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday despite the pain. Sources said that he was wearing a wrap on his thumb at practice but was determined to play through the injury.
Doc Rivers said after practice that he was good. But he is fine.
After a lengthy treatment session for his injured right hand, which resulted in a brace on his hand, he arrived for his news conference nearly two hours later with tape on his thumb.
I don't know what happened, but I started feeling pain and thought I might have twisted it. We are going to see what is going on Thursday.
When asked if the injury would affect his availability for Game 4, he said no. No chance.
