The head of NASA didn't seem to want to answer Jordan Wright's question in a new clip posted to the internet yesterday.
NASA administrator Bill Nelson is shown in a 3-minute video asking Wright how the space agency could cut costs. When he got his chance, Wright was at a press-only event for another NASA project.
Nelson joked that he could be anAngry Astronaut.
He served a word salad about development costs andtruing out some of the efficiencies. He didn't say much about NASA's plans to reduce costs.
The real answer to the agency's SLS dilemma is tucked away at the end of Nelson's answer, which Wright covered in a video posted yesterday. He thinks that NASA's Artemis mission to the Moon and later to Mars could be helped by the company.
Nelson said in the original clip that the Falcon Heavy will launch next year. The stages come back and land as much as 11 times. It is not a cheap cost.
Some YouTube viewers agreed with Wright's assessment and couldn't help but thank Musk for his help.
Thank God for Musk. One user commented under Wright's explainer, "Where would the space industry be without him?"
NASA says one of the moons is going to crash into the surface of Mars.
