Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III, who hasn't played since having knee surgery in March, will play limited minutes in Game 3 and then increase his minutes in Game 4 according to sources.
Sources said that the plan is contingent on Williams remaining pain-free prior to Saturday's Game 3.
The Celtics lead the series 2-0 and Game 4 is Monday.
Over the final months of the regular season, Williams has been an immense part of the NBA's best defense and hottest team. He was the closest defender among 169 players who have defended 500 or more shots. Williams has held opponents under 40% shooting.
Williams, who signed a four-year, $52 million extension in the summer, averaged 10.0 points, 9.6 rebound and 2.2 blocks this season. He has shot a lot from the floor.
