Mike Tyson Victim Just 'Overly Excited,' Lawyer Says Tyson Used Excessive Force

The man who punched Mike Tyson on a plane has hired an attorney, and his initial thoughts are that a lawsuit might be on the way.

Attorney Matt Morgan from Morgan and Morgan, who reps the man, says that his client is a big fan of Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson was excited when he boarded the plane. Their interaction was pleasant at first.

At a certain point, Mr. Tyson became agitated by an overly excited fan and began to strike him in an excessive manner. The situation could have been avoided if the flight attendant had called. Our client denies throwing a water bottle.

As we reported, Tyson's team said that Mike unleashed on him after a water bottle was thrown at him.

There were injuries to Townsend's body from the punches. He and Tyson were free to leave after he declined to press charges.
