According to Review Geek, Valve has quietly updated the official dock for the Steam Deck handheld gaming PC. The steam deck tech page originally stated that the dock would have three ports, two of which would use the faster 3.1 standard, but the page now states that all three of them will use the faster 3.1 standard.

According to the Wayback Machine, the original specifications for the Steam Deck were listed as of February 12th, and the diagram of the dock pointed to anEthernet port. The specifications were updated to list the three ports. On February 25th, the first day Valve began selling the Steam Deck, the dock diagram was updated to show the three ports and a Gigabit Ethernet jack.

The February 25th archive of The Wayback Machine is the first time I have ever seen Valve use the official dock.

I'm looking forward to getting one of the upgrades for the dock. I envision a day when I can use the dock to play games on the TV in my living room. Unfortunately, I don't know when I'll be able to do that, as Valve has only provided a vague late spring 2022 release date for the dock, and the company hasn't shared how much it might cost. Valve did not reply to a request for comment.

Sean Hollister did a review of the other USB-C hubs that the company says you can use if you don't want to wait for Valve's official dock. I've waited long enough for the deck, but what about the dock?
