Los Angeles County basically said, "Not so fast" after the Biden Administration backed down on its efforts to keep people masked while traveling.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Hollywood-Burbank (BUR) were affected by a new order issued by the county.

If you are going to fly in one of those airports, you might want to keep a mask on. The State of California gave up on mask mandates for transit.

The Health Officer Order was issued by the Public Health Department to note that masking in public transit within LA County and in LA County indoor transportation hubs continues to be required.

Everyone, 2 years of age and older, regardless of their COVID-19 vaccine status, must wear masking on public transit. Commuter trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride-shares include wearing masks. In indoor transportation hubs, such as airport and bus terminals, train and subway stations, seaport, or any other indoor area that serves as a transportation hub, masks are required.

Notice that airplanes aren't mentioned. If you want, you can take off your mask when you board the plane.

Several major airlines will no longer be using masks after this week's announcement that it would no longer be enforcing the use of masks. The mandate was dropped earlier this week by L.A. Metro, LADOT, DASH buses, and Metrolink.

LA County has doubled the number of new COVID cases since last weekend. When masks were still required.

Maybe we will see a fight between the airports, bus stations, and the county. Stay informed, folks.
