Emma Raducanu slides to a ball in Stuttgart
Emma Raducanu only made her senior debut on clay last week, when she was being taught how to slide on clay using a medicine ball

In the quarter-finals, Emma will face world number one Iga Swiatek, after she won back-to-back matches for the first time.

The British number one, Raducanu, defeated the German number one, Korpatsch.

She won 24 of the 31 points in the first set.

The second set saw Korpatsch improve but it was not enough to beat Raducanu.

They will meet for the first time on Friday.

Iga is in great shape and it will be an interesting match. "I feel like I have no pressure going out there on clay and playing against her, I'm ranked 12th in the world."

There are no expectations on me in the match-up, but I am looking forward to seeing what happens.

The US Open champion had never played a senior match on clay until last weekend, when she qualified for the King Cup.

The 19-year-old moved well in a one-sided first set against Korpatsch, hitting the ball cleanly and making just three unforced errors.

The complexion of the match changed when Korpatsch earned an early break in the second set.

Suddenly the German had more belief in her groundstrokes and caused problems for her opponent as she handed over a double break to her opponent.

At the start of the deciding set, she attacked Korpatsch's serve and broke twice more to seal victory.

When she faces Swiatek, she will face a rise in class.

Swiatek has won three consecutive tournaments in the first three weeks of the season.

The French Open champion extended her winning streak to 20 matches and 26 sets in a row after beating German Eva Lys in the second round.

Swiatek took over from Ashleigh Barty at the top of the rankings.
