Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is "trending unlikely" to play in Thursday's game against the Utah Jazz, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Despite the fact that the All-Star said he was feeling great after the game, there is still a lot of pessimism surrounding Doncic.
Doncic has missed the first two games of the series because of a calf strain.
After the shootaround, Kidd told reporters that he would see how he felt at game time.
The Mavericks split the first two games, thanks in large part to a 41-point effort from Jalen Brunson in Game 2. Dallas has been competitive despite being undermanned through two games, but it is unlikely they can win a series against a healthy Jazz team.
Even if Doncic is 100 percent, his long-term health is of paramount importance to a team that is unlikely to make a Finals run.
He is a player that has so much ahead of him, so he needs to be smart about it. He trusts us. He is making the best decision for himself. We respect that.
