The Miami Dolphins received the draft capital they were looking for, and the New England Pats landed a top wide receiver for quarterback Mac Jones.

The people involved in the rare interdivision trade described what happened.

In his first interview since the April 2 deal, he said that he chose to get traded here. The first thing on my list was the New Englanders. I am excited that we were able to complete everything.

The Dolphins traded for Hill after signing Wilson, and that's how it went down, according to the general manager.

Both sides feel good about the chance to do right by the player and the organization. This was never anything we planned to trade DeVante for.

The most aggressive teams were called by multiple teams. We worked with the agent and talked to DeVante as well. The third-round pick was important to us. If it was this year or next year, we were fine.

The first seven years of his career were with the Dolphins, and he spent the past week in the New England program.

He said he enjoyed playing in front of the fans of the other team and that was one of the reasons he decided to come to New England.

The 6-foot-3, 219-pound Parker said that he likes playing different spots and that he hopes to add a down-the-field presence who can high-point deliveries from Jones, the second-year quarterback.

In the past, he has worked with Jones in Florida, along with Nelson Agholor and others.

Mac has a nice arm. It was a great workout for all of us. I wanted to get the timing down so I came down and started throwing with him.

Mac is a good quarterback. The way he throws the ball is not hard. He throws a ball. It is something I am looking forward to during the season.
