The No. 1 prospect in the ESPN Top 100 will enter the NBA draft in 2022, he said.

The NBA has a unique skill set of 3-point shooting, lob catching and shot-blocking that has long inspired imaginations of league executives, and one of the front-runners to go first overall in the June 23 draft is Holmgren.

After a season where we accomplished a lot of great things as both a team and an individual, I feel like I'm in a position to chase my lifelong dream to play in the NBA.

As a high school star in Minnesota, he was closely watched by the NBA front offices, which made his arrival in the NBA draft highly anticipated for several years. The opportunity to go No. 1 overall has been part of the conversation since he was a kid.

I understand that basketball is a business, but finding a good fit and the right situation is more important.

He averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebound and 3.7 blocks. The man shot 60% from the field and 39% on 3-pointers. During his time at the school, the coach told the team to coach him hard, and he benefited immensely from the experience.

He plans to train to strengthen his body and skills.

My goal every day is to do everything I can to become the best I can be, and I am doing that with my pre-draft training. I will showcase that in summer league.

I take great pride in what I am asked to do. I know there will be more space and freedom and a different style of basketball on the next level, and I am excited to get used to it.
