According to a new securities filing, Musk is considering a tender offer for the company.

According to the updated filing, Musk has received commitments for $46.5 billion to help finance the deal. The filing states that Musk hasn't decided if he will make a tender offer or take other steps to further the proposal.

A tender offer is when a person makes a bid to purchase a company's shares from its shareholders.

Last week, Musk offered to buy the company for about $43 billion. Apoison pill is a shareholder rights plan adopted by a company to ward off a hostile takeover.

In the last few weeks, Musk has amassed a more than 9% stake in the company. Musk was offered to join the board, but only if he could not buy more than 14.9% of the firm. Musk made a bid to take the social network private.
