Milwaukee lost 114-110 to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday because of injuries to Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis.

After slipping on a drive to the basket in the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the first-round series, he began favoring his left leg. He tried to stretch on the sideline before heading to the locker room. The team said later in the quarter that he wouldn't come back.

After the game, Budenholzer said that he would have an exam on Thursday on a knee injury.

In 33 minutes, Middleton had 18 points, 8 assists, and 5 Rebounds.

During the first quarter, Portis was hit in the face by an elbow from Thompson, and the two went up for a rebound. After the play, Portis fell to the ground and was bleeding from his right eye.

Portis stayed on the court for a short time after the halftime break, but then he headed back to the locker room. He was ruled out for the rest of the game with an eye injury.

In six minutes, Portis scored two points and had two assists.

The injury news was not good for the defending NBA champion. Budenholzer said during his media availability that veteran guard George Hill wasn't expected to return soon from his abdominal strain that has prevented him from playing in the series.

Budenholzer said they don't expect him in the short term.

Hill missed 17 games earlier in the season due to a neck injury. After returning from that injury, Hill said he had a partial tear between the sixth and seventh thoracic vertebra in his spine.

Budenholzer said that the injury was caused by something that happened in the April 8 game at Detroit. Hill has not played since.

Budenholzer said they would see how he progresses over the next few days.

During the regular season, Hill played 54 games and averaged 6.2 points, 2.9 rebound, 2.2 assists and 23.2 minutes.

In the first game of the series, Jevon Carter filled in for Hill and scored three points in 10 minutes. In nine minutes, he contributed two points.
