Jay-Z, Yo Gotti and several other people were blasted for inhumane treatment of inmates at the state prison. In a 59-page report, the Department of Justice called out inadequate mental health treatment, failure to roll out sufficient suicide prevention measures, or to protect inmates from prison violence. Videos showing the horrible conditions inside Parchman were posted online and Jay's lawyers filed multiple lawsuits on behalf of the prisoners. The DOJ agrees that the prison needs to be changed. The report says that Parchman's conditions are against the US Constitution. The U.S. Department of Justice found that the Mississippi Department ofCorrections was guilty of cruel and inhumane treatment of the inmates. The DOJ says it will be working with state officials to make necessary reforms.
