According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Academy Award-winners behind Good Will Hunting are teaming up on a movie about Nike trying to sign Michael Jordan to a sneaker deal. The central characters of the movie will be former Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro and Nike co- founder Phil Knight. According to reports, the two actors will play Vaccaro and Knight. The two collaborated on the screenplay for and starred in the film, The Last Duel, which won an Academy Award. Nike tried to sign Jordan in 1984 when he was entering the NBA. Jordan was the top pick in the 1984 NBA draft, but he was not allowed to wear any of the major brands.
