Meta might want us to do everything in virtual reality from work meetings to exercising, but we often forget that playing video games is actually a legit application of this technology. The company unveiled a slate of new games at its Meta Quest gaming showcase today, which it will roll out this year on its Quest 2 virtual reality headset.
What happened to the second edition of the game? If you have a Meta Quest 2, then you have killed off that branding. Don't worry about it.
Some of these games have already been teased, like the hyped-up Among Us VR, but Meta confirmed that any game shown in today's stream will come to the Quest Store by the end of 2022.
Ghostbusters is coming to virtual reality, and the Zuck made a guest appearance on the livestream to share the news. In the upcoming game, you will work out of the Ghostbusters San Francisco HQ to solve a mystery while hunting ghosts. The game will have a mode where you can play with friends.
Who will you call? I guess he is Mark Zuckerberg.
Sports are fun in virtual reality. I'm not trying to go to work meetings in virtual reality. I want to be an NFL quarterback so that I can beat Tom Brady.
The first officially-licensed NFL game to hit virtual reality was unveiled by StatusPro, a company led by former college quarterback Troy Jones. In the game, you will play through a season on your favorite team as a quarterback in the National Football League. You will be able to play catch with your friends in any stadium you want in the game. Hopefully, that will allow you to play games against your friends. Tom Brady, send me a message.
The game was so popular in the early days of the Pandemic that even a Representative streamed it to encourage viewers to vote. After appearing in today's showcase, we know that the virtual reality version of the game will be out by the end of the year. The game is being developed by InnerSloth, Robot Teddy, and Schell Games.
I don't understand the hype when Supernatural exists. To each of them. If you like deadmau5 or Pendulum, you will be excited for Beat Saber: Electronic Mixtape. Beat Saber has also released a Fall Out Boy music pack.
I don't know how big of a overlap there is between virtual reality and public transportation, but anyone who loves to nerd out about urban planning and public transit will probably loveCities: VR. Have you ever wanted to redesign the entire MTA? It's your chance. Sort of.
The game,Cities: VR, will be available in the store on April 28.
This year, the rest of the games will be shown at the Meta Quest.
