According to sources, the Phoenix Suns will be without their star point guard for Games 3 and 4 against the New Orleans Pelicans, but he is not out for the rest of the opening-round Western Conference series.
The Suns were still analyzing the results of an MRI on Wednesday to get a full picture of the injury and a clearer timetable for a return, sources said.
Booker scored 31 points in the first half and made seven 3-pointers. He didn't score in the third quarter, but he appeared to hurt his right leg when he tried to challenge a dunk by a teammate. He went to the locker room after asking for a timeout.
After Booker went down, the Pelicans put together a huge finish to win 125-114 and even their first-round series.
Booker has had issues with his legs for the past two seasons. He missed seven games in November because of a strained left hamstring. During the NBA Finals a year ago, he had a injury in Game 3 but played through it and kept it a secret. He missed four games during the regular season because of a left hamstring injury.
Without Booker, the Suns were 8-6 this season.
The third game is in New Orleans.
