Getting online on a flight is very expensive and clunky.
Thanks to Starlink, that might soon change.
Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian told The Wall Street Journal that the airline is looking to add Starlink to its commercial flights and has already conducted testing, a big deal for anyone who flies.
It has been maintained by Bastian that free and reliable wi-fi should be available on flights. Today's reality is far from that, with the cost of internet spotty.
According to The Points Guy, only JetBlue offers free high speed internet in the US.
The news comes after Musk revealed last year that the space company is focusing on planes that serve the most people.
The Federal Communications Commission has given permission to test Starlink hardware on aircraft.
It is not known how long it will take for Starlink internet to be implemented on commercial flights, but it is likely to improve on the success that the company has had in bringing internet to rural parts of the world.
Delta Air Lines tested the Starlink internet for planes, according to the CEO.
