It is important that you get the pronunciations right when you draw a beast from real-life folklore.
Eddie Redmayne, who plays magizoologist Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, admitted in a video interview with Mashable that there have been times when he and the cast have mispronounced the names of the creatures.
He said that they had to go back and loop in after the event because they had mispronounced the creatures throughout the movie.
Redmayne said that he mispronounced the zouwu, but then there were several interpretations of how to say it.
