On Wednesday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the stock was on course for its worst day in nearly a decade, as the stock fell over 27% in premarket trading.
The company projected in a letter to shareholders that it could lose two million subscribers next year. Mass password sharing and competition from other streaming services have negatively impacted the company's growth.
The richest man in the world commented further on the issue, agreeing with a user who said the "Woke mind virus is the biggest threat to civilization." as well as another user who said it has impacted the media in general.

Musk has criticizedokeness in the past. Last year, in an interview with the satirical conservative publication, The Babylon Bee, theTesla CEO said "wokeness basically wants to make comedy illegal" and commented on efforts to shut down his friend Dave Chappelle's standup special.
Musk asked if we want a society that is rife with condemnation and hate. At its core, wokeness is divisive and exclusionary. It gives people a shield to be mean and cruel.

Musk's positive image has been shown in several documentaries that he has collaborated with. In September, the streamer released the docuseries "Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission to Space." Musk could be taking issue with the efforts from the company to become more inclusive, both in its shows on the site, as well as its workforce. Last year, a diversity study found that depictions of people with disabilities were rarely used in shows.
Cracking down on password sharing and exploring cheaper subscription packages with ads are some of the options being considered by the company.
