We've been hearing about the project for a long time, but it seems like pieces are finally falling into place. Evan Blass shared a render of a device with a circular design and a physical crown, which is consistent with previous leaks and rumors.
There is a lot missing from the render. The image does not include the watch's lugs, which would show how the strap will connect to the face, or any idea of its overall build. If the image looks funny, it's probably because of the watch's rumored design, which was seen in mock-up renders last year.
We have seen a design similar to the one that was released by the tech giant in the form of the LG Watch Style, which was designed in conjunction with them. It has the same simplicity of lines and crown placement, but we hope for a slimmer look five years from now.
In a recent piece, my colleague Victoria Song argued that the year 2022, looks like it will be a big year for Wearables. The company has been investing in the space for a long time, but it has been slow moving and outmaneuvered by Apple.
There are still lots of questions to answer, but we are hoping that the Pixel Watch will be revealed at the I/O developers conference. Is this going to work for all phones, or will it be more focused on thePixels? Stay with The Verge to find out more.
