Malcolm Nance, a former MSNBC analyst, joined an international legion of troops to fight against Russian forces in Ukraine after deciding that he was done talking about the conflict and that it was time to take action.

Nance told Joy that he joined the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine a month ago.

I spent a bit of time here in the pre-war period, and when the invasion happened, I had friends who are in the Ukrainian army who are writing to us. He said that they had been hit 500 times.

The more I watched the war, the more I thought I was done talking. Nance said it was time to take action.

He said that he went to Ukraine to help fight a war of extermination.

Russia has brought this war to these people and they are mass-murdering civilians. Nance said that there are people like him who are here to do something about it.

He joined the international legion to help them with their skills.

Nance was the director of the Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics, and Radical Ideologies. He was an MSNBC analyst and spoke on issues such as terrorism and foreign affairs.

Nance has been involved in counterterrorism operations in Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East while he was in the Navy.

I am grateful to be here, I am glad that I can help my friends. Nance said that he didn't have to listen to them talk about how many children were killed.

Nance posted a picture of himself in full combat gear, holding a weapon.

In February, the Ukrainian President set up a legion that Nance joined to facilitate foreign citizens who wanted to join the Ukrainian resistance against the Russian invasion.

When Nance met his first platoon, he noted that everyone was there for the right reasons and not just to get their hands on the weapons.

The international legion is one of the best kept secrets. That is the story. Nance told The Daily Beast that they were higher-level people than he was. It is a multinational force of men and women who are here to defend Ukraine.

If anyone gives me any flak, just tell them to shut the fuck up since they are obviously pussies who have never been in combat. He said that the Legion only takes combat vets.

Nance no longer works for MSNBC.

The Washington Post reported in March that 4,000 Americans have joined the international legion in Ukraine and signed contracts stating that they will fight until the war ends.

According to the US government's travel advisory for Ukraine, American citizens will not be able to be evacuated from the country. People who ignore the travel advisory have been advised to draft wills.
