Thank you to Walmart for kindly sponsoring this post.
All opinions are 100% honest & all items were hand-selected by me.

Though the majority of my closet is made up of mostly solids, I'm continually trying to incorporate prints into my wardrobe. Patterns have personality, they add interest and, let's face it - they're just more fun! I'll never forget a stylist at NYFW (years ago) telling me that he prefers to dress women in prints because they visually "keep the eye moving" and tend to be more flattering & forgiving than just a solid block of color. I had never really thought of it that way, but he was right!

I thought it would be fun to feature some recent printed pieces I picked up from Walmart that are perfect for the season. Typically, my favorite patterns to wear for fall are dark florals, classic plaid, houndstooth and animal prints (which are really trending this year!). I'm highlighting some great affordable options for you below that I know you will love - and you'll get free 2-day shipping when you spend $35 or more!

I grew up in a house where plaid was my mom's decor theme of choice pretty much year-round...so it's no surprise that I still love this classic pattern today. Plaids can be a bit tricky to style - you don't want to look like you're headed to prep school or going to chop wood, so it's important to find a good balance. I've found that they key is to offset it with something slightly edgy (like distressed denim or leather) to give it a modern feel.

This neutral plaid top is somewhere between a top & a sweater - it's made from a soft, stretchy knit, but it has nice structure to it too. The mockneck style & 3/4-length sleeves have such a retro feel, which I personally love! I'd also wear this with blue jeans, but I like how these vegan leather pants make it a bit more polished. Even though the description says these are leggings, I think they fit more like a pant so I found them to be more versatile than the version I already own. The seaming detail & quality of the fabric really elevates these so they look way more luxe than their $35 price tag.

More plaid tops to try that are all under $35: this classic button-down (long enough to wear with leggings), this pretty blouse (great for the office), this off-the-shoulder top (fun with jeans for date night) or this peasant blouse (love the color!).

Clearly I have a type when it comes to dresses - I can never resist a good wrap style, especially when it comes in a fun print! I've actually been wanting a leopard print dress for fall but all of the styles I've tried on felt a little too "Wilma Flinstone" for me - LOL! So I really love that this one doesn't have the traditional colors of classic animal print, because I think it's a bit more subtle & sophisticated. But, if you prefer neutrals, there are more leopard print dress options here & here.

I paired it with these sock booties that I featured in last month's post ( here) - I've been wearing these so much lately because they go with everything + they're super comfortable. These also come in gray & burgundy and they're only $25 - such a great deal!

The fabric of this dress is really interesting - it's called a "mesh knit" in the description and, when it arrived, I was worried that it was going to be semi-sheer (the sleeves are a little bit this way), but with the material doubled over, it isn't see-through at all. Because it's so lightweight, this would be great for those of you who live in warmer climates, but still want to dress for fall. The length also makes this work appropriate & nursing-friendly!

It comes in a red leopard print as well & I found it to run true to size (note: the material is really stretchy, so if your size isn't available, you could easily size down). Other dresses worth checking out include this printed wrap dress, this polka dot midi or this ruched sleeve dress. See more of my top picks from Walmart 's new arrivals in the scrolling bar below!
