Everyone can now see The Batman at home, with access to behind-the-scenes clips and the director's commentary. The Wrap reported on highlights from Apple's exclusive Matt Reeves commentary track, which gave more context as to why the film closed on the Riddler and the Joker.
The last time we saw the Riddler, he was in action in the third act, and he was saying "Boom!" in his window.
By not having this scene, you didn't get to see a great performance from both actors, Barry and Paul, and I think it was a great texture change. It didn't have the same resonance when you took it out. That was critical to the ending of the movie and the conclusion of the Riddler's story.
It is not the end of a huge villain set up for the Joker, but the end of Batman's rogues' gallery.
The Batman is available on a number of platforms.
