According to Jeremy Fowler, a veteran wideout will meet with the New Orleans Saints this week.

The Cleveland Browns are still in the mix to bring him back.

When the Browns released him in March, it appeared that his time in Cleveland was over. He played just 12 games because of an injury and caught 52 passes for 570 yards and two scores.

He aired out some laundry in February, after a down year for the five-time Pro Bowler.

1/2 Reality behind all this is I came back to play in the best shape of my life, I got hurt week 2 with a high grade MCL Sprain,Partial quad tear and bone bruise. Then came back way to early and ended up staying hurt the entire season. You never heard me mention anything about it

2/3 Also my media availability didn’t happen because I was focused on getting on the field as healthy as possible during the week and after games.. a strategic plan was set in place to be followed. I put the ball in CLE court by telling them I would like to stay but if not then

3/3 I have put the ball in CLE court by telling them I would like to stay but if not then I’m confident enough in myself to be a better healthy me this year and moving forward to helping do my part in winning a championship elsewhere.

I GAVE EVERYTHING!!!! EVERYTHING

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported on March 19 that the veteran wideout wanted nothing more than to win a Super Bowl here.

His agent Roosevelt Barnes said there was some mutual interest in a potential return to Cleveland. We have to see how things go.

The Saints are still in need of weapons for quarterback Jameis Winston, despite the fact that he remains a free agent. Callaway was the top wideout in New Orleans in 2021, leading the team in receiving yards (698) and receiving scores (six) while finishing second in reception (46).

That is hardly elite production. The expected return of Michael Thomas should help, but adding a reception magnet like Landry, who has six seasons with 80 or more catches and two seasons with 100 or more, would give the team another weapon in the passing game.

Jarvis Landry would be a great fit for what the Saints need in another premium pass catcher alongside Michael Thomas. As I wrote last week, he should be Plan B if they don't draft one early. Maybe he'll turn out to be Plan A instead. Money will obviously be a factor though. https://t.co/5WdzAsUrbF

I think it’s pretty simple. Saints can absolutely use a player like Jarvis Landry on their team. This WR group needs all the help it can get.

The Saints are a logical match for the Louisiana native who went to college at LSU. If the Browns cannot convince him to come back, that is.
