SpaceX has been eyeing major airlines to expand its internet service.

The inflight urge to post a plane selfies on social media is interrupted by a slow and spotty internet connection. The airline industry may be looking for ways to upgrade its current service.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Delta Airlines is testing out the Starlink satellites. The Wall Street Journal reported that Delta Chief Executive Ed Bastian said in an interview that the airline company was testing technology from Starlink.

As part of a growing internet megaconstellation, the company is aiming to send a whopping 42,000 satellites to low-Earth orbit. Satellites are supposed to provide internet to distant parts of the world. 2,335 satellites have been launched by the company.

The private space venture is in talks with several airlines to provide aircrafts with wi-fi. The VP of Starlink told a panel at the Connected Aviation Intelligence Summit that the company was looking to shift more towards commercial interests by the end of the year.

Hofeller said that they are in talks with several airlines.
