During a meeting last year, Saudi Arabia's crown prince erupted at Jake Sullivan when he brought up the assassination of a journalist.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the two men met for the first time since President Joe Biden took office and had an argument.

The newspaper reported that the crown prince shouted at Mr. Sullivan after he raised the killing of a Saudi journalist. The crown prince said that the US could forget about its request to increase oil production.

The US and other Western nations have pushed the kingdom to increase its production of crude oil to offset rising oil prices and squeeze Russia's ability to finance its war. According to The Journal, Saudi Arabia has refused to do so so far and its interests remain aligned with Russia.
