Tyson Fury has insisted that he has no involvement with Daniel Kinahan either in a business or advisory role.

Seven people were hit with worldwide financial sanctions by the United States last week.

Irishman Kinahan had previously advised Fury.

The British boxer, who is defending his title against Dillian Whyte on Saturday, cut ties with the company in 2020.

The world of sport has been warned over its involvement with the Kinahan organised crime group, after Tyson Fury spoke for the first time at a public workout on Tuesday.

He said that it was none of his business and he kept his own business to himself.

He said there was no business or advisory relationship with Kinahan.

Frank Warren said that Kinahan had no involvement in his upcoming fight, as he echoed the comments of fellow promoter.

The Irish Mirror reported this week that Bob Arum's Top Rank had paid Kin fees of 1.5 million to 2 million dollars.

When asked if he had ever personally paid consulting fees to Kinahan, he said no. Nothing.

Bob Arum does his own personal business, what he does with his own money.

If he wants to, he can spend on gummy bears. What someone does with his own money is not in my control.

Warren insisted that his fighter had no knowledge that Top Rank was making payments to Kinahan.

I want to make it clear. The show has nothing to do with Daniel Kinahan.

Tyson was unaware of any payments made by Top Rank to Daniel Kinahan and made his position very clear a year ago. And that is it.

'A picture doesn't mean I'm a criminal'

There was tension about the public work-out at BoxPark. The elephant in the room was not the 6ft plus heavyweights entertaining the crowd in the ring, but the question of Fury's connection with Kinahan and his silence on the subject.

They insist that he cut ties with Kinahan in 2020.

A number of boxing's leading fighters are represented by the MTK Global agency. Two years ago, he ended his relationship with MTK.

The promotional company said it has no connection to Kinahan after sanctions were announced.

Bob Yalen stepped down as CEO of MTK Global for personal reasons while the work-out was under way.

"I have never been sponsored by MTK," he said.

Being managed by MTK was for three years. That is done. End of. Is there any other questions you could ask me to trip me up? Because you can not. I have nothing to hide.

In February, Fury was pictured with Kinahan.

He said a picture does not mean he is a criminal.

I can not control who is in the building. There could be a criminal in this building, but I don't know if I am involved in his criminal activity.

There are no allegations of wrongdoing against any of the boxers who have worked with Kinahan.

He said that allegations of criminality were part of a campaign against him after the investigation.

The US government has offered a $5 million reward for information on the three most senior members of the Kinahan organised crime group.

'We are not the police'

The Union Belt, which will be presented to the winner on Saturday night, was shown off by the president of the World Boxing Council.

After he praised Kinahan on social media, he was forced to deny that he had a relationship with him.

When the meeting took place, he was unaware of who Kinahan was.

Neither the WBC nor I have any dealings with Daniel Kinahan. All countries are respected by us. He said that they have nothing to hide.

I met a lot of people while I was in Dubai. I accepted the meeting. Fighters had good things to say about him so we met.

The sanctioning body had not thought about whether they would continue to do business with fighters who had links to Kinahan.

He insisted that boxing was clean and did not believe there was an oversight problem.

With boxing facing serious questions, Warren admitted he was concerned about the sport's image.

He said he was concerned but also worried about some of the misinformation.

I have never broken the law or Tyson has. I have no idea what else you can say. Is boxing a bad sport? We sold 94,000 tickets in two days.

Are we going to do big figures on the show? Yes, we are. We are aware of what we need to do as participants and guardians of the sport, but we are not police. We are not the police.
