You don't have to wear a mask to ride with the ride-sharing companies. The mask requirements for US drivers and passengers have been dropped by the company. In the country, mask wearing is now optional. If a party is too large to fit in the back of the car, you can sit in the front passenger seat.

The CDC still recommends masks for people with certain risk factors who live in areas with high virus transmission levels. Health safety is no longer a reason for cancelling a trip, according to the company.

The decisions are not voluntary. Major airlines and Amtrak stopped requiring masks on public transportation on Monday after a federal judge in Florida overturned a federal mandate. New Jersey and Washington, DC, have lifted their demands. They are just following suit. It is not clear if the federal government will challenge the ruling.

The move will not be welcomed by everyone. People who are at high risk of contracting the Pandemic may be reluctant to avoid cars with maskless drivers. These travellers may have to rely on friends or family to get around now that they have fewer options.
