Nintendo announced that the sci-fi game will launch on July 29th instead of September, which was previously planned. There was no reason given for the change. The game is for the Nintendo Switch.
The first main game in the series since its debut on the Nintendo Switch will be called Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and was announced earlier this year as part of the Nintendo Direct. In addition to the release date, Nintendo also revealed a new trailer to further tease the story and world of the new game.
The change in release date comes at a time when a lot of major releases have been delayed for various reasons, including the challenge of developing games remotely during the Pandemic. Nintendo's own sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League have been delayed due to this.
