The decision to play two of their European Championship group games at a training ground is shocking.
The opening game of the tournament is being held in England and will be sold out.
The Manchester City Academy Stadium has a capacity of 4,700 for the Euros.
The stadium is part of a larger training complex.
However Gunnarsdottir told Their Pitch podcast: "I'm a little bit disappointed.
It is shocking. There are so many stadiums in England that we have a training ground from City.
It is embarrassing. It is not the respect we deserve. They are filling out stadiums for women's football. You can see the game between Barcelona and Madrid. TheEurosOrganisers are not prepared for the fact that we will sell more tickets than 4,000.
It is disrespectful to women's football because it is so much bigger than people think. You think women's football is getting two steps ahead, but then something comes up that is just a step back.
I don't know what's going on in their heads or if they follow women's football.
If you followed women's football today, it would explode. It is getting better. It doesn't make sense to speak about it. It is frustrating to be honest.
They should rethink it because of the response and just see how fast tickets are selling.
The final at Wembley has sold out, as have the three England games in the group.
The Football Association and Uefa have been contacted.
