The Ohio Republican Senate hopeful once told his college roommate that he thought Donald Trump was America's Hitler.

On Monday, Georgia Rep. Josh McLaurin posted an image of a lengthy Facebook message sent to him by Vance.

In the message, he said that he goes back and forth between thinking that Trump is a bad person like Nixon or that he is a good person like Hitler.

The Hillbilly Elegy author shared a room with McLaurin during their first year at Yale Law School.

The message began with a statement from the man that he was not surprised by the rise of Trump and that the Republic Party was to blame.

We are the party of lower-income, lower-education white people, and I have been saying for a long time that we need to offer those people something, and maybe even expand our appeal to working class black people.

The break down in Republican politics that he now personally is trying to exploit is what the message from Vance was.

The public deserves to know how bad this guy is.

A request for comment from Vance was not immediately responded to. The text was old news and a source told Newsweek that Vance was proud to have President Trump's support.

According to the outlet, President Trump trusts thatJD is a genuine convert, as out of all the Republican candidates running, he endorsedJD and concluded that he is the strongest America First conservative in the race.

He is now a supporter of the former president. In April, Ohio Republicans urged Trump not to back a risky candidate for the Senate.

On April 15th, Trump announced his endorsement of Vance.
