There seems to have been a significant shift in traveler sentiment in the last few weeks, with people treating the Pandemic as though it is over. Travelers are less concerned about health and safety as more countries relax their COVID-19 protocols and lift travel restrictions.

Global Rescue, one of the world's leading travel risk and crisis response providers, recently conducted a survey of over 1,200 of its current and former clients between April 5 and 9, 2022.

According to its survey of seasoned travelers, one-third think the U.S. government should stop requiring international travelers to have a negative COVID-19 test in order to return to the U.S. The requirement for US citizens should not be eliminated, according to almost the same amount of respondents.

Many governmental rules are not medically indicated. Dan Richards is the CEO of Global Rescue and a member of the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board.

The vast majority of survey participants said that they are less concerned about traveling now than they were in the early days of the Pandemic. When it comes to international travel, 15 percent of respondents said that meeting the testing requirement for re-entry into the U.S. is their main source of anxiety.

Many travelers no longer believe in the need for Pandemic protocols, such as wearing masks. Almost half of respondents said they don't plan on continuing any COVID-related health and safety precautions unless they are required to. A third of people disagreed and said they would continue wearing face masks.

Travelers want to travel more than ever. One out of four travelers will spend more money or time on trips to make up for lost travel due to the Pandemic. Once governments allow them to move with fewer or no restrictions, they're going to get their revenge.
