Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is one of the most successful films of the century, which may be why Paramount and Sega are working on another video game adaptation. Streets of Rage will be adapted for the big screen by the creator of John Wick. Nobody, an action film starring Bob Odenkirk, was released last year. He was a co-executive producer on The Winter Soldier.
Streets of Rage was released on the Genesis system. The game allowed players to choose between three characters, and it was a side-scroller. The police officers tried to take down Mr. X but were stymied by corruption within the department. In order to save their city, the three of them resigned from the police force. The two sequels that earned a cult following were released in 1992. Streets of Rage 4 was released in 2020.

DJ2 Entertainment will produce Streets of Rage in partnership with Escape Artists. DJ2 Entertainment is developing a video game and an original series for Amazon Prime Video.
There are other John Wick veterans who have lined up a video game adaptation. The director of all four John Wick movies, Chad Stahelski, has signed on to helm the Sony hit Ghost of Tsushima.
