The Kansas City Chiefs kept Patrick Mahomes in the loop as they attempted to trade wide receiver Tyreek Hill, letting their star quarterback know the team may soon be without one of the most prolific wide receivers of his era.

He was still stunned by the trade of Hill to the Miami Dolphins.

Even though you knew this was a possibility, losing a guy you had played with and built a friendship with over the last year was a little bit of shock.

You are happy for him. He got a four-year, $120 million extension. He has a house in the off season around a lot of his family. I wish him the best.

Kelce was second on the team in catches and yards last season, behind Hill. They have signed two free-agent wide receivers.

The upcoming draft could see the addition of a wide receiver. Each of the first four rounds it has two picks.

In this league, you have to keep rolling. It is a business that is about friends and stuff like that. We have to keep evolving and getting better in order to have success in this league. I tried to build that so we could have success when we get going this year.

The void Hill leaves is significant. He caught 343 passes for 4,854 yards and 43 touchdown in four seasons with Mahomes.

We will have to find different ways to produce this year because Tyreek was such a big part of our offense.
