Products can be tagged in feed posts for all US users of the social media platform. The option was limited to brands and some creators.

They can help their audience buy things they show off in their posts. Those just getting home from a festival might be able to let their followers shop their festival looks.

The idea behind the feature is to help people support their favorite small businesses, but at least for now, you won't get a cut of sales if you tag products.

Instagram product tagging

If you want to give brands you love some free promotion, tagging products doesn't seem complicated. It works the same way as other users are tagged. You need to tag an eligible brand before you can look for products. Before adding the tag, you may be able to specify a style and color. Anyone who taps on a product tag will be able to purchase that item on the brand's product detail page.

Product tags will not stop at the feed posts. It is working on bringing a similar feature to Stories.
