According to a report by Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns are going to sign Pro Bowl corner Denzel Ward to a five-year, $100.5 million contract extension.

Ward is the highest-paid defensive back in the history of the league. The average annual salary for a defensive back is $20.1 million, which is the highest in the league.

The contract that Ward is under with the Browns is for six more years. He is under contract for over $13 million this season, after the Browns exercised the fifth-year option on his contract last year.

Ward was selected fourth-overall by the team in the draft. The franchise is headed for separation after Cleveland traded for quarterback Deshaun Watson and signed him to a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million extension.

In his first four seasons, Ward has been selected to two Pro Bowls.

He has 50 passes defended in 52 games and has 10 intercepts.
