Lucas Joao put the hosts ahead with a controversial penalty, before Hannes Wolf and Joel Piroe both scored.

Michael Obafemi grabbed a fourth goal and Piroe added his second with a penalty.

Tom Ince volley and a second for Joao made it 4-3, before Tom McIntyre scored deep in the last minute.

Derby County were knocked out of the play-offs by Queens Park Rangers in one of the most entertaining games of the season, as well as putting both Barnsley and Peterborough United on the verge of going down.

Reading came into the game with a seven-point cushion over the bottom three and looking to confirm their status in the Championship.

Royals boss Paul Ince made two changes from the side that won at Bramall Lane, with Tom Dele-Bashiru and Junior Hoilett replacing Tom Holmes and Ovie Ejaria.

Flynn Downes almost made an immediate impact on his return when he was replaced by Jay Fulton.

Joao scored his ninth goal of the season from the spot after Piroe was shown a red card for a foul on Josh Laurent.

Wolf curled the ball into the top corner of the net after a fine run and pass from Downes.

If that goal was good, then the second one was even better as Piroe curled home from outside the penalty area to score.

Wolf might have scored his second goal, but he hit the side-netting.

Reading were unlucky not to level on 37 minutes when Hoilett&s ambitious effort rattled the woodwork.

The referee pointed to the spot for the second time as he barged into Obafemi, allowing Piroe to score his 20th league goal of the season.

The third goal gave Reading a lot to do to rescue even a point, but Ince missed the bar just before the hour and moments later it was 4-1, as Piroe found Obafemi unmarked and he fired home.

Reading responded quickly and scored a second on 62 minutes when Ince volleyed home after the delightful cross from Hoilett, and a real finish was ensured when Joao scored his second from close range.

The contest was ending to end and Obafemi had a chance to make it 6-3, but he prodded wide after Wolf's cross, while Reading committed more and more players forward.

The miss by Ntcham, who hit the post in added on time, proved to be crucial when McIntyre smashed home an unlikely equaliser in the fifth minute of injury time, sparking wild Reading celebrations.

With the draw, their play-off hopes are over.

Paul Ince is the boss of Reading.

It is hard to comprehend how we came back against a good team.

We still believed we could get back into it even if we were down by three.

The goal made it 4-2 and gave everyone belief.

It was game on when we got the third goal. It was pushing.

When we got to 4-3, I thought we would get one or two chances, but the fans spurred us on and it was an amazing day for us.

Russell Martin is the boss ofSwansea City.

I am disappointed in the mentality of the team for the first time in a long time, as they were 4-1 up.

The game turned into a datememe datememe datememe and we allowed that to happen.

We allowed the game to become a stereotypical Championship game and we are not very good at that.

For the first hour it was brilliant, but the mentality was not right for the last half an hour.

We have to learn from this.
