In-game voice chat will be included in the major Battlefield 2042 patch on Tuesday, which will bring an important feature to the first-person shooter. The feature will not work across an entire team. The only options are for parties and squad. Voice chat can get messy fast with a lot of people talking over each other. It might have been helpful for callouts to have a proximity-based option. While party chat features built into their console or third-party services can be used, they haven't been able to speak with teammates they don't know until now. That is an omission for a game like this. It is good to see that DICE andEA are on the same page.
The 4.0 patch will make weapon attachment more distinct. It's not clear how changing to a different weapon will affect your weapon. If you do that, you will have slower aim-down-sights speed or more magnification for a scope. The updated score will be displayed on end-of-round screens.
Modifications to some specialist abilities are one of the changes listed in the patch notes. The patch will go live at 3AM tomorrow.
The next patch is due in May. DICE will introduce other quality of life changes. The first season of Battlefield 2042 is expected to start this summer.
