The sinking of the Moskva, the Russian Navy's flagship in the Black Sea, is tempting for Americans. Whether it was destroyed by Ukrainians or 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465, the result is both a humiliation and a blow to the war efforts of Vladimir Putin. It is hard not to take some satisfaction in cheering the defenders of Ukraine.

America's fleet may be more vulnerable than you think.

There have been a number of reports indicating that the U.S. Navy is over stretched.

A February report by the Government Accountability Office shows how Navy personnel are struggling to keep their ships running.

China has the largest navy in the world, but many of its ships are smaller than America's, which is seen as the most powerful navy in the world. That is a problem.

The U.S. Navy is on the verge of strategic bankruptcy, according to a former assistant defense secretary. He concluded that the risk of its debts coming due suddenly (and perhaps violently) will increase due to repeated deployment and maintenance delays.

There is a question of whether the U.S. Navy is built for the modern world.

There are questions about whether America's carrier-based fleet is vulnerable to a new generation of Chinese anti-ship missiles, just as aircraft carriers once replaced battleships. If the Ukrainians really did take out the Moskva with their new Neptune missile, those questions will get more pertinent.

America has learned that the power of its armed forces is not always overwhelming. The sinking of the Moskva is a sign that such a lesson might also apply to the U.S. Navy. Finding out the hard way could be disastrous.
