Who do you root for in this one?

The first round of the NBA playoffs has a good slate to keep it interesting. There weren't many great games this weekend. The Jazz and Wolves got road wins on Saturday. The Bulls kept things close on Sunday in Milwaukee, thanks to the Bucks having a bad shooting night.

In Boston, the Celtics beat the Nets 115-114 on a buzzer-beating layup by Jayson Tatum. It had everything you would want in a playoff game and more.

It's being overshadowed by Irving flipping off the Boston crowd. I'm sure there will be plenty of pundits talking about Irving in the coming days.

We've been down this road before, and we're pretty sure that Irving heard some terrible shit from Celtics fans. Celtics fans and Boston fans as a whole have earned a reputation which they have thoroughly earned by crossing the line. It isn't charging into the stands when you flip the bird subtly. Someone is going to scream if someone thinks of the children.

Irving has watched his brain turn into styrofoam from huffing enough of his own farts because of a thing he read once, and was given the opportunity to call himself a martyr. It became a symbol for every shithead out there who thinks that being a selfish, lazy asshole keeps the rest of us down. Irving should be yelled at vociferously everywhere he goes, instead of the other way around where all the fuckwads who are grinding all the gears of society to a halt also happen to be the ones screaming at the rest of us.

It doesn't mean anyone should condone some of the things Irving heard. One of the few anti-vax dipshits that is on display for us instead of hiding behind a social media profile or being protected by a political press corps that is hellbent on both-sidesing everything is Kyrie. I think it's refreshing that Kyrie has to face the music.

We all lose in this fight. He didn't really face anything for missing a lot of the season so he could get lost in the empty convention center between his ears. The protocols in New York and the Nets both wanted him to succeed.

The loudmouths near the Garden floor feel more emboldened when we all want to see Kyrie eat shit. Nets fans will probably want to respond when the series shifts there. If you were not part of the group, you would want to side with a sympathetic figure.

Everyone gets booed. Let's hope Boston sweeps so it's over as soon as possible.
