Marshawn Lynch and Macklemore have new investors in the Seattle Kraken.
The investment was not disclosed. Forbes valued the Kraken at an estimated $875 million.
Lynch, who played seven of his 13 NFL seasons in Seattle, told CNBC in a statement that owning one is something special. I will continue to count my blessings as I look back on some of my accomplishments.
Lynch and Macklemore approached the team about becoming investors, according to Tod. The NHL approved the deal earlier this month.

Lynch will be a part of the NHL's Hockey Is for Everyone campaign, and he wants to shadow him to see the ins and outs of a hockey CEO's operation.
He is intrigued by the idea of being an owner and the business side of things.
Macklemore is an artist who will add to the entertainment side of the franchise.
Macklemore said in a statement that he was a big hockey fan and had watched the team come to life.
Seattle won't have a playoff berth in its first season. The schedule ends on May 1.
