  • MickeyTravels has helped book thousands of Disney trips.

  • He spends the day at Disney World when he isn't planning vacations for others.

  • He doesn't go to Disney World without two portable phone charges.

Greg is the founder of MickeyTravels. He works with a team of 250 travel agents to help book Disney vacations for everyone from budget travelers to celebrity clients and estimates he has been to the parks more than a thousand times.

He never forgets to bring the one item he always packs for a Disney trip. He always packs two portable phone chargers.

Much of Disney can be accessed through your phone. He said that a portable charge used to be helpful, but now it is a necessity. Here is why.

From accessing fast passes to mobile dining, visitors need a fully charged phone

One of the biggest mistakes travelers make when visiting Disney is not knowing how much cell phones will cost. It is nearly impossible to visit Disney without a phone and the My Disney Experience app.

Guests can purchase Disney tickets, reserve a spot at a park through the company's new Park Pass reservation system, order mobile dining, see wait times for rides, and book fast passes on the app.

He said that things like your resort room key can be accessed via your phone.

You will probably take pictures and post on social media throughout the day if you need a phone for the Disney app. If you have kids, phone games are a great way to keep them busy while waiting in line.

All of this can drain your phone's battery very quickly. If you have enough room, he said to pack two and a portable charger. The power bank from the Anker company is one of the favorites, but you can find other options for less.

He said that if your cell phone is not charged, you are in trouble.

Disney does portable chargers, but Antonelle said it's better to have your own

FuelRods stations are kiosks at Disney parks and resorts where visitors can purchase a charging kit for $30 and bring it home.

The life on the FuelRods is short compared to some of the portable chargers he uses. If your phone dies in the morning, you might need to use multiple FuelRods throughout the day. It will cost more money and take up time waiting in lines and finding a kiosk.

The simplest solution? Pack your own.

He said that you always want to bring a charger.
