The body of a young boy who may have died within the last week was found by a mushroom hunter in a wooded area in southern Indiana, and state police on Sunday asked for the public's help in identifying the child.

The body of a boy is believed to be between 5 and 8 years old, and was found in a heavily wooded area of Washington County.

The agency doesn't know the name of the boy, who is black and has short hair, and is 4 feet tall.

The boy's body was found, but no details were given about his cause of death or what he was wearing. He said the boy died within the last week.

He appealed to the public to give any information about the boy, saying that someone knows who the child is or who his parents are.

There is someone at an Easter table this weekend that may not be there and may not be expecting to come.
