Did Pep show the FA Cup was least of his priorities with lineup choice? (2:35)

The FA Cup semifinals will feature a lineup choice by the coach. (3:05)

What a weekend! The FA Cup final set and several big clubs needing dramatic heroics to win, Europe's top leagues did not disappoint. There was drama in the Italian league, a string of big results in the German league and a late comeback by Real Madrid against Sevilla that left fans speechless.

James Olley, Bill Connelly, James Tyler, and Alex Kirkland are all from Europe.

Talking points, top goals, and troubled teams are included.

Four talking points

Liverpool's quadruple still alive

The FA Cup semifinal win over Manchester City is one step closer to an unprecedented quadruple for the Reds. The Carabao Cup is already won, they are one point behind City in the league, and their two-legged European semifinal is next week.

The FA Cup final added another game to the calendar, which made the quadruple harder, according to the bizarre claim made by Klopp. The first-half display that secured their victory over City suggests that they are ready for the run-in. Thiago's fitness has added a new element to the middle of the field, as players stepped up during the minor dip in form of Mohamed Salah.

RB Leipzig are back where they want to be

With a quick progression from Tyler Adams to Christopher Nkunku, the team took charge of third place. They have 29 points from 12 matches since the start of the year and have also reached the semifinals of the Europa League. After a late-season surge took them back to where they finished last season, they are currently in 11th place.

This was a slow-building affair, considering the attacking prowess of both teams. The teams combined for just eight shot attempts in the first 60 minutes, two of which were from RBL. Szoboszlai's strike gave the Red Bulls a good advantage, and Leverkusen couldn't equalize.

Die Werkself have held their own since the loss of their star player. They are one point ahead of Freiburg for fourth place and the final spot in the playoffs.

Real Madrid turn 2-0 deficit into 3-2 win

It is hard to keep track of Real Madrid's recent form. The team that surrendered to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg was the one that blew away the French side in the second leg. Are they the team that lost to Barcelona by a score of four, the team that beat Chelsea by a score of three, or the team that almost lost to Real Madrid by a score of one? The answer, of course, is all of the above, and Sunday's 3-2 comeback win at Sevilla showcased both sides of this thrilling, baffling-and-hyde team.

Real Madrid's incredible comeback against Sevilla.

Two defensive mistakes from Eder Militao gave the home side a 2-0 lead, only for a second-half fightback with goals from substitute Rodrygo and Nacho, and an added-time goal from Karim Benzema. It was a result that all but sealed Madrid's LaLiga title with a 15-point lead at the top, and a performance that was the perfect embodiment of their season.

Milan sides taking Serie A race to the wire

Italy is the only country with a chance of winning the title this season, and theirs looks set to go down to the final game as the two clubs of Milan refuse to give up. With just over a month to go, Napoli are only five points off the summit. AC Milan and Inter both won on Friday to remain first and second, though Inter have a game in hand and are only two points back. The pair will face off in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semifinal on Wednesday, after they were both blanked in the first.

Milan have 18 league titles, but haven't won it since 2010-11, while Inter have weathered the departures of Romelu Lukaku and others to remain in the league. This is a good place to keep an eye on as there are lots of fireworks.

Three must-see goals

Promel pummels one for Union Berlin

Union fans are running out of time to enjoy the buzzing, energetic presence of Grischa Promel, as it was announced in February he is joining Hoffenheim on a free this summer. If they remain on course for a top-six finish and European football next season, the goals he scored on Sunday will endeared him to the fans.

The second goal, after Taiwo Awoniyi opened, was a full showcase of his skill. He was on the spot for the loose ball at the edge of the box and curled it past Jens Grahl after keeping the play alive. They rarely get as good as this.

Yet another young star scores for Borussia Dortmund

The youngest player in the league to make his debut was 17 years and 169 days old, and he scored on his debut on a 24th-minute corner kick.

Six goals and sunshine for @BlackYelllow at Signal Iduna Park. ☀️⚽

The crowd at Signal Iduna Park was in for a good time on a sunny day. BVB also got goals from other sources, but it was Erling Haaland who took over, scoring twice and giving BVB a 6-1 win over their disappointing opponents.

The full highlights are as follows: Dortmund crush Wolfsburg with six goals.

BVB will likely cruise into a second-place finish in the Bundesliga despite a massive run of injuries and some momentum-destroying defeats that have halted their title race. Despite Haaland's impending departure, it appears thatRothe may give them another hotshot youngster to lean on.

Liverpool stump Steffen, Man City with a brilliant move

The United States had little chance of stopping Konate's first goal, and then he allowed Sadio Mane to tackle him when he stopped distributing a routine back-pass, which made it 2-0. There was little he could do about the second strike, which gave the Reds a three-goal lead.

It was a wonderful team move, featuring a raking cross-field pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold to Luis Diaz that enabled the Reds to beat City's press before Thiago Alcantara chipped an excellent pass to Mane, who fired a superb first-time volley inside. It was the apotheosis of the first half that made the difference.

Two teams that should be worried

Rayo Vallecano's historic slide continues

Rayo Vallecano started the year fourth in LaLiga, ahead of both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Their 13-game winless streak is the worst in their top-flight history. They dropped to 14th in the table with Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Alaves. It looks like the bottom two (Alaves and Levante) will still go down despite wins this weekend, so that leaves Cadiz, Mallorca, Getafe and Rayo scrapping to avoid joining them. Five teams are separated by six points.

They should be fine, but you never know. Manager Andoni Iraola lamented a failure to convert chances after they were unlucky to lose at Alaves. He said that you have to score goals. It was a bad weekend for Rayo, with the women's team being demoted after a season of mismanagement.

Hoffenheim on cusp of missing European football entirely

Hoffenheim's hopes for a place in the playoffs went from dim to dead on Sunday after a dull home draw with Greuther Furth. The squad attempted 16 shots, but created little in the way of clear value until late, when the Furth keeper made a series of sharp saves to preserve the point.

After the match, the player said that they are in a phase where they are finding a few things difficult. They haven't scored a goal in their last five matches and have just two points since a win over Koln vaulted them into fourth place.

It's a pity that the team didn't score against Furth, it's a pity that they didn't make the playoffs, it's a pity that they didn't make the playoffs, it's a pity that they didn't make the playoffs. Hoffenheim is currently in eighth place, two places behind Union Berlin, in the battle for sixth place and a spot in the Europa Conference League.

Man United may still qualify for the group stage of the competition.

Ronaldo spares United's blushes and keeps them (just) in top-four race

Watching Man United these days is difficult, especially as the arrivals of stars last summer portended a significant leap forward, only for the club to take a huge step back. At least they can rely on a player when times are tough, even though the Ralf Rangnick era has yet to spark.

The demonstration shows the need for the Man United rebuild to include the exit of the Glazers.

The Portugal star took his goal tally to 15 on Saturday, tying for third-best with Diogo Jota and trailing only Salah and Son Heung-Min, and thanks to the Red United. After surging to a 2-0 lead in the opening half-hour, withRonaldo calmly converting Anthony Elanga's cross for 1-0 and overpowering an overmatched Ben Gibson in the air for his second,Norwich were allowed back into the game either side of half-time.

With doom and gloom in full display, a dangerous free-kick presentedRonaldo with the chance to be the hero with 15 minutes remaining, and he did just that, dispatch the set piece beyond a flailing Tim Krul. The job is done.

With six rounds left in the season, United are still in the top-four conversation, despite the fact that their season stumbles to the finish line. They are three points behind Spurs, but with four road games and home games to come, they will need a few more days like Saturday if they are to qualify for the 2022-23 European Championship.
