Raptors coach Nick Nurse said that guard Gary Trent Jr. and forwards Scottie Barnes and Thaddeus Young are unlikely to play in Game 2.

Nurse said after Sunday's practice at Temple University that it doesn't look good for any of those guys. We will evaluate them as we go and see where we end up.

Game 2 is in Philadelphia.

Barnes was hurt in the fourth quarter of the first game when the 76ers' Joel Embiid accidentally stepped on his foot. Young left the game with a thumb injury in the second quarter.

Barnes wasn't at practice Sunday, while Young was wearing a wrap on his thumb. The team is waiting for the results of the scans on the players.

Nurse said that Trent missed practice with a non-COVID illness that had been impacting the guard for the past week. Nurse credited Trent for being willing to play through his struggles in the first game.

Nurse and VanVleet both said that the Raptors had been thoroughly outplayed by the 76ers.

Nurse said he believes his team can do it again after playing through injuries all season.

It is not unlike a lot of regular-season situations this year, Nurse said. You are going in with a game plan to figure out what it looks like with a certain group of guys and how it may change with another group of guys. We will have to be a little fluid with what we do.

I thought what we had planned was a success, and we would stick with it. It has to be better. I think that would be the case as of now.
