Errol Spence Jr. looked impressive in a 10th-round victory over Yordenis Ugas to unify three of the four major welterweight world titles at AT&T Stadium on Saturday. The fight between Crawford and Spence has been going on for too long. After the win, he said that he wants the fight. Crawford wants the fight. Boxing fans would like to see the fight. Is this the right time?

In the co-main event, lightweight contender Isaac Cruz punished a faded Yuriorkis Gamboa en route to a fifth-round TKO victory, sending a clear message to the rest of the division. Can he beat the top names in the division?

There were two bouts on Saturday. Eimantas Stanionis was the mandatory challenger but stepped aside to allow the unification fight against Spence to take place. Is Stanionis and Benn ready for the big leagues? Is there a chance that they can fight each other?

Mike, Ben, and Nick talk about these topics.

Spence vs. Crawford, the time is now

He wanted to prove he was the big fish in the division.

He looked like a shark in front of the crowd.

He stuck in front of Ugas with an endless supply of punches until it was too much for him.

In picking up a 10th-round knockout victory to win three of the four major belts in the welterweight division, Spence did more than make a statement. It is not too late for boxing to get the fight it desperately wants, as evidenced by the fact that he showed.

In his postfight interview, Spence said that the fight he wanted was the one everyone else wanted. I am going to get these straps and take his s--- as well.

It feels like a box that needs to be checked before talking about a fight. The words seemed to carry more weight this time because of how Spence looked against Ugas.

With Crawford holding the WBO belt as the fourth and final share, the sense of resilience that has marked the last couple of years was shown.

He had no adverse effects from the detached retina on the left eye that forced him to pull out of the fight against the Filipino. In the sixth round, Ugas knocked out Spence's mouthguard, but he continued his relentless output.

It was hard to remember, even after the eye issue and the car accident that left him in critical condition, if Spence had ever looked better.

Ugas was a worthy champion, and dangerous at a distance. The ring doctor stopped the fight in the 10th round after the fight was smothered and punched.

Crawford and Shawn Porter both had strong performances against each other. Crawford made a strong case for himself as the top fighter.

It has been up for discussion for a long time during Crawford and Spence's runs in the division. Crawford signaled his intent to end the debate after Spence won.

The real fight will happen now, Crawford said in a statement.

Crawford mentioned any promotional hurdles to a potential fight that no longer exists after he left Top Rank.

This fight is something that Spence is eager for to happen. In beating Ugas the way he did, Spence proved that the Crawford bout is still going on.

Yordenis Ugas was not supposed to be here.

The Cuban retired after dropping two decisions to opponents far below the championship level.

Ugas was back two years later and he was a completely different fighter. Ugas appeared to win his first title when he fought Shawn Porter, but he lost a controversial decision. Ugas proved he was on top of his game.

Despite being stopped in the 10th round, Ugas proved he is one of the best in the world. After a series of shots wobbled Spence, he was in serious trouble in Round 6.

Ugas boxed well over the first half of the bout, but he fought hard in the second half, but his right eye was swollen shut and he couldn't see anything. He sent Pacquaio into retirement with an upset win in August, and now Ugas will have to climb back into title contention.

He was taken to a local hospital for an eye exam after he injured his eye. It makes sense to fight with Eimantas Stanionis when Ugas returns. The biggest win of his career came in a fight against Butaev on the undercard and he is now in line for a title shot.

Stanionis stepped aside to allow the bout with Spence to go on. If a fight between Ugas and Stanionis were to happen, it would be perfect to establish who was next in line for a shot at the titles.

A fight between Ugas and Thurman would be attractive, two former champions who appear to be evenly matched. There are rising stars like Jaron "Boots" Ennis and Vergil "Ortiz" Jr.

It will likely be a while until Ugas fights one of these top 10. A long rest appears to be on the way after another hard fought fight and a serious eye injury.

Stanionis wins, shows he's ready for title shot

Stanionis became one of the best in the world with a split-decision victory over Butaev in his first legitimate test.

Butaev entered the fight with a win over James and a rating of 9 by ESPN. Butaev had trouble defending against Stanionis, who 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110 888-739-5110

Stanionis is an aggressive fighter who is defensively responsible, and he is a big, strong, and strong welterweight. Stanionis' head was moving behind a tight guard as he unloaded on Butaev.

Stanionis emerged with both of his eyes badly bruised after absorbing a lot of damage. The Russian connected on less than 20% of his shots.

Stanionis stepped aside to allow the unification with Spence to proceed, despite the fact that the Lithuanian was set to fight Ugas.

There is no rush at 27. Stanionis could step aside and get some seasoning if Crawford fights Spence later this year to unify all four major titles.

Stanionis is ready to at least hang with the division's elite, even if he would be a decided underdog against Crawford.

Stanionis is one of the best of the best under 30 years old. The Four Kings of 135 pounds are Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis, not these four boxers.

Is Conor Benn ready to face the top welterweights?

Benn wants the best at 147 pounds, but he's more likely to face one of the former shining lights in the division -- like Kell brook or an old friend. If that doesn't happen, a bout with David Avanesyan could be a good step up.

Benn demolished Chris van Heerden from South Africa in two rounds on Saturday. Despite his recent success, Benn has not done enough to suggest he is ready to fight against the top names in boxing. That includes Crawford, Ugas, and Spence Jr. Eddie Hearn says a big test still awaits this summer.

A ring with Benn may be worth 10 million dollars, but the former IBF world champ is asking for it. One of the biggest non-heavyweight bouts in the United Kingdom this year would not be worth the price of the fight.

There is a chance of a fight with Broner. Russia's Avanesyan has won his past six fights by knockout and could be an option.

It won't be Amir Khan, he won't be around until the end of the year, but it's time for a serious test, and I'm talking about the other guys. I know Kell doesn't want the fight but we will see what the next few weeks bring.

The fight against Broner is something that Hearn likes. Since February 2021, when he last held a belt, the four-time champion has not fought. Benn would be introduced to viewers in the United States by a victory over Broner.

Benn can win the fight. While Benn has kept busy and is in form, Broner has had five fights in as many years, winning two of them, losing two and drawing the other.

Benn said he would love them all to be there, but he would rather fight the winner.

I have to give credit to Kell. He looked like the Kell brook of old. I want that challenge. I think I knocked him out in six rounds. If Khan wants to come and have it with me, he is welcome to do so. Both of those shows you that greed is a terrible thing.
