Los Angeles Angels manager Joe Maddon called for an intentional walk with the bases loaded in the fourth, but the decision backfired.

With one out and the Angels trailing by two, Maddon visited with Warren and allowed Seager to score from third, giving the Rangers a two-run lead.

The next two at-bats brought in two more runs as L.A. fell into a four-run hole.

It was the third time in the past 70 years that a player was walked with the bases loaded. He was the manager of the last time it happened, in 2008, when Grant Balfour issued a walk to Josh Hamilton. Barry Bonds was walked with the bases loaded in 1998.

The two previous walks were with two outs in the ninth. When Bonds and Hamilton were walked, the D-backs led by two runs and the Rays led by four.
